SOCCER SHOOTERS FOOTBALL COACHING APPRENTICESHIPS ROLE

Job Title : Soccer Shooters Apprentice

Reporting to: Soccer Shooters Delivery Manager

Department: Football Delivery

It’s an exciting job with no day the same, with the chance to experience football coaching, a salary and the chance to train while you work! Welcome to the Soccer Shooters Apprenticeship in partnership with Evolution Soccer Coaching – available to applicants over the age of 16.  

​

Offering a competitive rate in line with the government recommended apprentice rate. You will complete a level 2 Advanced Coaching Course as part of your apprenticeship.

​

Soccer Shooters Apprentices will work along dedicated Soccer Shooters Coaching Pathways for each activity and will have an experienced mentor from within the business to support them. Of course the best apprentices are offered regular work with Soccer Shooters at the end of their studies, and our apprenticeship programme  can open doors to a career in the sporting and football specific sectors and or be a  stepping-stone to further education.

Working alongside a highly experienced coaching team and gaining valuable skills in football coaching, child behaviour management, teaching and communication with children and adults. 

​

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will support Soccer Shooters to maintain the high standards set out in both delivery and co-ordination of our programme. This is to include (not exhaustive) the assistance in delivery of :-

    • Sessions within Schools

    • Futsal and football sessions

    • Holiday Club Delivery

    • Birthday Party provision

    • 1 to 1 sessions

    • Mini football sessions

    • Club support.

  • Adhering to the 'Soccer Shooters Way'.

  • Support delivery and carry out all duties related to Soccer Shooters sessions.

  • The job involves working weekday afternoon/evenings and Saturdays.

  • To continually monitor and evaluate all sessions and adapt delivery accordingly.

  • Be prepared with a session plan for every session.

  • Ensure all activities are delivered to the standards expected in regard to health and safety, local safeguarding and child protection policies.

  • When required provide cover for Soccer Shooters sessions.

  • Adapt sessions to meet the needs of differing ranges of ability.

  • Commit to a programme of continuous personal and professional development.

  • You must be well presented and wear your Soccer Shooters Branded uniform when on duty and representing Soccer Shooters.

  • Participate in the appraisal and mentoring process.

  • Be a positive role model at all times.

  • Ensure Social media presence is in line with Soccer Shooters Values of non-discrimination.

  • Comply with all company policies/procedures. Adhere to all company regulations regarding policies, procedures, health and safety and security.

  • Undertake every opportunity to promote Soccer Shooters in a positive manner.

  • All other duties that may arise and fall within the scope of this position.

 

Person Specification:

  • An interest in coaching children/young people

  • Be sensitive to the needs of children, especially those with learning or physical disabilities.

  • You will need to act as a role model and build good relationships with those attending the session.

  • Have a genuine interest in creating a fun learning environment to teach both technical and physical skills.

Qualifying Criteria and Licences:

  • Driving Licence (Desirable)

  • A current Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to acquire one)

  • Safeguarding Children Certificate (To be completed during apprenticeship if not FA Level 1)

  • First Aid Certificate (To be completed during apprenticeship)

  • Level 2 Advanced Coaching Course (To be completed during apprenticeship)

  • Have least 3 GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher (Minimum grade D/3 in English and Maths)- if you don’t currently have these we can help support you in achieving the.

  • Level 1 in FA Football coaching would be advantageous.

  • Effective communication skills

  • Basic Microsoft office skills

  • Flexible and dynamic approach to accommodate young peoples needs

  • Time management skills

  • Able to use a variety of delivery styles to engage and motivate individuals.
