Our Story
Soccer Shooters Founder James Wilson is a Football nut with a lifelong passion for sport, from playing in the primary school football team where he grew up in Devon, to captaining the University Basketball team at University in Birmingham, from Cycling in France to Surfing in Mexico, James believes sport can play a huge part in a person’s life, and he is absolutely passionate about getting as many people as possible gaining as much pleasure from it as he has done. Getting children playing sport is absolutely fundamental to what his aims are, but equally important are that people stay in sport from childhood right through to old age. Its really not about the wins and losses but the joy of playing, and the health benefits both physically and mentally that this brings.

With this is mind back in the early noughties James embarked on his first FA coaching course, he then did some volunteering in local schools and started helping out with a session in Clifton in Bristol. James has never looked back and knows that he has found his calling in life. With help from some awesome parents (notably Donna Gallagher and Rich Potter) he set up Clifton United football club that has introduced hundreds of children to football, off the back of this Soccer Shooters was born, not only providing highly motivated FA qualified coaches to Clifton United but also providing to the wider community; expert coaching, Futsal sessions, Club support, Holiday clubs, Birthday parties and all the things you see listed in the ‘what we do section’.

These days we are much more than James with a sack of balls, cones and bibs. At Soccer Shooters all coaches that work for us absolutely share the same ethos, with a passion for introducing children to sport and giving them every opportunity be the best they can be, and of course staying involved in sport and being physically active for a life time.
